What is PublicDNS.nl?
PublicDNS.nl is a toolbox for inspecting DNS, SSL/TLS, WHOIS, uptime, email configuration and related infrastructure for domains and IP addresses.
Is this service free to use?
Yes, the basic tools on PublicDNS.nl are free to use. Heavy or automated usage may be rate limited to keep the platform responsive for everyone.
Do you modify anything on my domain?
No. All tools are read-only: they only query public DNS, WHOIS, HTTP/HTTPS endpoints and related metadata. We never change settings at your registrar or hosting provider.
Technical
How fresh is the data?
Most checks query live data (DNS, HTTP, SSL) at the time you run the tool. WHOIS output may depend on upstream WHOIS servers and their rate limits.
Why do some checks fail for my domain?
There may be several reasons: DNS misconfiguration, firewall rules, timeouts, or temporary outages at your provider. If a tool returns an error message, you can use the Advanced view to see more technical details.

Do you store the domains or IPs that I test?
PublicDNS.nl may log aggregated usage data and technical logs for debugging and abuse prevention. See the Privacy Policy for more information.
